Tropic Thunder

Tropic Thunder is a superhit satirical action comedy movie starring Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey Jr. It is a satirical movie about War movies and the insanity of Hollywood. To fully understand this movie, you must watch classical war movies like Platoon & Apocalypse Now. This movie is made for Hollywood insiders. If you are just peripherally or partially aware of Hollywood, you won't fully understand this movie. You have to be completely dialed into Hollywood, inside and out, to fully enjoy this movie.

Anger Management

Anger Management is a buddy comedy movie starring Adam Sandler, Jack Nickolson, and Marisa Tomei. Sandler plays his typical role of the ultimate loser, the most unfortunate person in the world. Sandler has an anger management problem, according to the movie, but they never show it, so I guess I have to take their word for it. This whole movie is about how his girlfriend plots an elaborate plan to cure him of his anger management problem. The movie is not very good.  It is average at best. Although, it inspired a popular Bollywood movie;  Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.

Cruel Intentions

Cruel Intentions is a teen romance movie starring Sarah Michelle Geller, Ryan Phillipe, Reese Witherspoon, and Selma Blair. The cast is top-notch. You couldn't cast better actors for this movie than these actors.  All the lead actors were at the height of their careers. Everyone is on top of their game here. And it is delightful to watch. The casting is further made better by outstanding writing. This movie engages you from the first scene and keeps up to speed till the end. This is a redemption movie and also a tragic love story. The cinematography is also exquisite, and so is the pacing. Everything in this movie works. If the movie were a person that it would be a virile healthy male whose every organ is working excellently. Everything about this movie works, which is extremely rare.

Life of the Party

What a garbage movie this is!  It was hard to watch. This movie has some of the worst writing I have ever seen. Mellisa McCarthy cannot write to save her life.  The Editing and Pacing of this movie are way off. The characters are paper thin and shallow.  Anyways, Julie Bowen is in it. That was a pleasant surprise. I did not see that coming. She is the only good thing about this movie. Otherwise, these movie has no redeeming qualities. It was trash through and through.

Five Feet Apart

Five Feet Apart is a romantic movie starring Haley Lu Richardson and Cole Sprouse. It is a very emotional movie. It is a romantic movie in the truest sense cause it solely focuses on the relationship between the lead actors. The writing and casting are top-class. It can be sentimental and sappy sometimes. But,  if you are a sucker for a good love story, then you can't do better than this. This is Notebook type stuff. The direction is just fantastic. Even side characters gave excellent performances in the movie. The cinematography is also well done. But, Here, Haley Richardson truly steals the show. She is the best thing about this movie. She gives a performance of a lifetime.

Tammy

Truly one of the worst movies of the decade. It is truly admirable how bad of a movie they accomplished to make. This movie provides a cautionary tale about how not to make a movie. But, if you want to make a bad movie in the first place, then this is a model movie. From the plot to the acting, everything is terrible in this movie. I was thinking, what am I even watching? It is an complete trash movie.

Plus One

Plus One is a romantic movie starring two nobodies. This movie clocks in 90 minutes, but still, it feels too long. This is one of the most cliché movies you will ever come across. This is just another friends-turned-lover story. And, of course, it's all the fault of the hero.  He doesn't realize that he loves her until the last scene. It sounds like a story from dozen other romantic movies, but the difference, this is the worst among all of them. There are no comedy scenes in this movie. No comedy plus cliché romantic plus equals an awful movie. I don't know how many times Hollywood will repeat this mistake before learning that it is destined to fail.  Why would I watch something that I have watched dozens of times before? Go figure.

Vampires Suck

Vampires Suck is a parody movie of Twilight. Twilight Saga was universally mocked and ridiculed and said to be bottom-of-barrel low brow, low-IQ schlock, which appeals to the lowest common denominator, which was the opt diagnosis, according to me. The movie essentially lampoons the worst piece of shhh...  "art'' and it does a great job. This movie is just so good. It is super funny.  The dialogues are pure gold. The acting is also good. You can tell that they were having a blast making this movie. This is a parody movie, but it is done sincerely. It is must-watch for every Twilight saga hater aka normal people.

Legally Blonde

Legally Blonde is a romantic comedy movie starring Reese Witherspoon, Luke Wilson, and Selma Blair. Although it was marketed as a rom-com, I see it more as a revenge fantasy and a pipe dream. The movie is based on a book written by a woman. The screenplay is also written by two women. This movie is a testament to the stereotype that women can only write revenge fantasies and wish fulfillment.

This is a very girly movie. The only movie which is like this that I can remember of is Clueless, and god, that movie was trash.  However, this movie is better than Clueless, which doesn't mean it's good. It's still pretty bad, but it is relatively watchable. The plot of this movie is simple. Elle is dumped by her boyfriend before he goes to Harvard.  He dumps her on the day she expects him to propose, so she is butthurt about it. Part of the reason why he left her is that she is not very bright, and he wants a well-educated wife. The decision was not personal but pragmatic, but of course, she takes it personally and goes to Harvard to become a lawyer,  the kind of woman his boyfriend wanted in the first place. This goes to prove that women can't handle rejection. I would make fun of her childishness, but she works extremely hard and gets into Harvard. So I have to give her credit for that. Also, in this movie, there are scenes where former sorority girls of her sorority help her a lot, only they both belong to the same tribe, and I respect that. Overall, It is an okay movie. It has it's faults but it has also some redeeming qualities.

Legally Blonde 2

This movie joined an already long list of bad sequels. I don't even understand the point of this movie; story of most sequels. This movie should be titled Elle does fantastic things, come watch and get bored out of your mind. The story of this movie went off the rails completely. She literally addresses the whole White House. The plot is illogical and, most notably, not believable. This movie reminds me of every Balakrishna movie,  where the entire film is basically him doing fantastic things with no logic whatsoever. It feels like a narcissist has written his fictional biography.

Shaun of the Dead

Shaun of the Dead is a zombie apocalypse movie, and this is a horrible zombie movie. It is the worst zombie movie I've seen. It was so dull that my eyes were hurting, but I couldn't stop watching due to my OCD. This movie takes such a fascinating subject, Zombies, and bores you to death. How can you make a boring zombie movie? Even low-budget zombie movies are enjoyable. Everyone involved in this movie should be ashamed of themselves.  The most frustrating thing about this movie is its popularity.  Some people think that it is a good movie.  This is unbelievable to me.

Hot Fuzz

Hot Fuzz is a buddy cop action movie starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.  This movie is the worst buddy cop movie I have ever watched, and I have watched Lethal Weapon. The worst thing about this movie is its lack of intrigue. I was checked out in the first 30 minutes, and it went downhill from there.  It is unbelievably boring through and through.

The World's End

The World's End is a sci-fi Alien movie. After watching this movie, I was genuinely hoping that a meteorite would hit us; the species which makes this kind of abomination deserves to die.  I just despise this movie with a burning passion. Indeed this is one of the worst movies ever made. This movie is a smudge on humanity as a whole.

Scott Pilgrim vs The World

Scott Pilgrim vs The World is a comic book movie. It is not only boring, but it is only confusing and annoying. Truly one of the worst movies ever. You will feel baffled watching this movie trying to parse out what is happening. It's just super confusing. However, The special effect and the cinematography are pretty dope. It looks great. This is the only good thing about this movie. Otherwise, it is pure garbage through and through.

Idiocracy

Idiocracy is a sci-fi comedy movie written and directed by Mike Judge, who also wrote Office Space. He has an uncanny ability to capture the zeitgeist and the present culture.  This movie is a social commentary on human's tendency to be stupid.  It is a comedy movie, so everything is exaggerated and over the top. Like Judge's other movie Office Space, it has become one of the most discussed movies on the internet and has slowly grown onto become a cult classic.

Baby Driver

Baby Driver is a heist action movie. The cinematography is reasonably good in this movie. And it is the only good thing about this movie.  Otherwise, this is a pretty terrible movie. There are many heavy hitters in this movie, but the film is pretty lightweight. Despite being a heist movie, I felt crippling boredom watching this movie. The third act is the worst part of this movie. The writing is the worst in this movie. It leaves you feeling frustrated in the end.

The Hangover Trilogy

This franchise grossed over 1.5 billion
which should be the 8th wonder of the world, but again The Terminator was one of the greatest movies of all time, so maybe it's not that surprising. I like Bradley Cooper, and I wanted to like this movie, but I failed. I ended up disliking the franchise, if not outright despising it.  I was more frustrated than anything else. I thought I would laugh and enjoy watching this movie, but I ended up scratching off any little comedy I could find.

Let's talk positives first; Mike Tyson was great, and this casting was excellent. The Thailand Brothel scene was funny. The Story is not that bad.

Now, let's get to the main course and talk about the negatives. The first movie's premise was crazy and absurd, so you would think that it is an excellent avenue to write incredible and humorous scenes, but the humor is primarily awkward and childish, and basic. It was very low-brow and low IQ. But, It was not the worst thing ever, but then they went on retread the same premise again in the second movie and again in the third movie. After a crazy night of drinking and partying, three friends wake up hungover, only to discover that someone is missing. Where did they go? What happened to them? Let's find out what happened when they try to piece together what really happened in a race against time. This is basically the plot of all the movies in the franchise. Only the second one takes place in Thailand instead of Vegas, where the other two films took place.

They did essentially the same thing again and again, and it was mildly funny the first time, by the second time, it was frustrating, and by the third time, it was angering. And every time, the execution was worse than the previous one. It was criminal how the filmmakers robbed people of 1.5 billion with such trash.

Ted

Ted is allegedly supposed to be funny. But, It is one of the most unfunny formulaic, tryhard movies you will ever see. It seemed like a high schooler wrote this movie whose limited style of humor is solely adult humor. I like adult humor as much as the next guy, but you can't say curse words and expect people to laugh again and again. I am not a brain-dead retard. Every time you say it, it loses its effect slightly, and at some point, you get tired of it and get frustrated.

The writer of this movie seems like a hack who doesn't know how to write. A talented 15-year-old can write a far better script than this retarded script.  If you want to enjoy this movie fully, you must go back in time and be your 13-year-old self, who used to laugh at the most basic jokes. The writer seemed like he was a one-string banjo. This is one of the most uncreative and unimaginative "comedies" of all time. I don't think it even qualifies as a comedy. This movie is even worse than watching someone's first Improv class. How did they get to make a sequel is mind-boggling to me.

Ted 2

Ted 2 is better than the first one, surprisingly. Usually, the sequel is worse than the first one. But,  it is the other way around here. But I don't know how you get worse than the first movie. That movie was just bottom-of-the-barrel stuff. This movie was not good by any stretch of the imagination. This movie has a half-decent script with a few humourous scenes, which is a significant improvement from the first one.

The plot of this movie is three friends who attempt to recapture their glory days by opening up a fraternity near their alma mater. This is essentially a movie about a bunch of guys doing crazy stuff together and generally just having a blast. It is a light-hearted fun movie. The writing and acting are well done.  Overall, it is a super fun movie.

The Lost Boys is a Vampire movie. Vampires suck blood, and this movie sucks joy and fun out of you. This is a terrible movie. Supposedly,  It was pretty big in the 80s, which is not shocking because most of the hit movies of the 80s suck. This movie is very uninteresting and lacks any intrigue whatsoever. It is very lackluster and unremarkable.

Instant Family

Instant Family is a family comedy-drama movie starring Mark Wahlberg, Rose Byrne, and Isabel Merced. Overall, It is a light-hearted movie, but it is also intensely emotional sometimes. It is one of the most touching movies I have ever seen. This movie is an excellent example of a tear-jerker movie. It is a movie about adoption and the foster system, the struggle the adopting parents go through. It also explores the foster system and how it screws up the kids. This is an extremely emotional movie dealing with pretty serious topics, but it doesn't mean it compromises on the entertainment aspect. It has many humorous and funny scenes. It maintains a perfect emotion-to-entertainment ratio. The direction is top-notch. All the actors give a fantastic performance. It is an excellent movie all things considered.
