Lethal Weapon Review

Review
Lethal Weapon is a 1987 buddy cop action movie starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. Martin Riggs, played by Mel Gibson is a suicidal, reckless, grieving, loose cannon and irresponsible officer who is partnered with Roger Murtaugh, played by Danny Glover is a by the book, middle edged family man. The leads are poles apart and the odd couple dynamic between them is definitely the selling point of the movie but unfortunately,  It is a boring, generic, trite action movie. This movie is so useless that it loses to your most run of mill generic movie. We see the villain are for 2 minutes at the start of the movie, then we see them at the end of the movie at showdown. What? Isn't showdown a last battle between two rival. We literally know nothing about villains. It was the unbelievable. I can't even say that villains were paper thin cardboard cutouts like most action movie cause they were nowhere in sight for the most part of the movie. I have a newfound respect for an average action movie. The script was terrible. It was low effort and with no consideration. They thought I wonder how much shallow and superficial script can I write, turns out pretty shallow. Screenwriters were just phoning it in. And Writing is everything, even in a action movie you have to at least have a decent script. I don't know how this project got greenlit and bankrolled. This movie has the most thin script among the movies I can remember watching.
This was a good scene though.
