Groundbreaking TV Shows

1. Friends

Everyone has heard of the term friend zone but where did it come from? It came from a friend's episode "The One With The Blackout".
Friendzoned means when a suitor is considered a friend by the woman in question rather than a romantic prospect. 

2. The Big Bang Theory 

The Big Bang Theory made nerd culture cool. Before this show nerd culture existed on the fringes of society where they are looked down upon and considered uncool but after this show nerd culture became cool and mainstream.
 
Now, Nerd Culture is at the forefront of culture especially after Marvel introduced their comic book characters to the screen in a live live-action mat. Soon DC followed suit and now these two are the biggest franchises. Also, Marvel started the trend of franchise films which killed the trend of Movie Superstars. Now, You don't go to see Robert Downey Jr.'s's Movie but a Marvel movie. Marvel has radically changed the Showbusiness.

Later, Rick and Morty and Stranger Things premiered with massive success which also catered to the nerd subculture. Once at the fringes now nerd culture is dominating the culture.

3. The Simpsons 

Simply, The Greatest Animated Television show of all time. The Simpsons was a groundbreaking show in terms of a tv show or an animated show. The Simpsons brilliantly tackled social issues and was extremely well received due to its on-the-nose social commentary and precise depiction of society. Before The Simpsons, the culture was saturated with feel-good and wholesome family sitcoms which did not show the accurate depiction of families at the time. It was like the characters of these sitcoms are from different worlds but The Simpsons dared to show the reality of the time while also being hilariously funny and that's why The Simpsons is an iconic tv show. The fact that it premiered in '89 and is still airing only shows this shows relevance.

4. Family Guy 

Although It is inspired by The Simpsons now it has found its a separate place in the culture. Family Guy has also found its place in the culture with its zany characters and insane plotlines. The Family furthered the list of adult animated shows after The Simpsons. The show is still relevant despite the fact it premiered way back in '99. The show doesn't pander to anyone all the while making fun of anyone and everyone. The show always remains loyal to comedy rather than any group and that's why it is still relevant Also, The show also has a lot of pop culture references while it also deals with present-time issues which makes it relatable and relevant.
5. South Park 

South Park is an R-rated show while the main characters are in elementary school. It is not an overstatement to say that South Park is the most relevant show today despite being premiered way back in '97. South Park is without a doubt the most daring show now which doesn't spare everyone and makes fun of everyone in an epic fashion. South Park creators can be called trolls cause of their biting satire and humor. Every episode is created within a week of broadcasting which enables the show to tackle relevant topics which no other show can compete with. South Park's incisive humor on relevant topics of the day makes it a relevant show.
