Buffy The Vampire Slayer S2 Ep 5 Commentary

So the episode starts with the gang watching a Bollywood movie. Since the last episode, there has been much emphasis on Buffy being generally resentful of not being able to be like a normal teenager and do things other teenager do like going to dances and parties. So Buffy gets invited to a party thrown by frat boys. She refuses but later decides to go after Cordelia's insistence and persuasion. Cordelia does this cause the college kids said that if Buffy is not coming then She can't either that why Cordelia acted so out of character. And Yes Cordelia like this Richard Guy's Money, Richard who invited her in the first place is in fact very rich and lives a lavish lifestyle which Cordelia covets. So Buffy along with Cordelia go to the party of Rich Richard. Where they get drugged and handcuffed in a dungeon by Richard and his friend.

Turns out they are a part of some wierd cult and they are going to make ritual offering to a hideous creature whom they worship or something. Buffy, Cordelia and one another girl is the sacrifice to the Reptile looking creature. But, before it's completion, the plan gets foiled by Buffy's friend and Buffy herself. Culminating in the cult members arrest. In the End, Angel asks Buffy on a (not) date which Buffy asked him to before but he refused and told her how disastrous their relationship will be. But, he relents and asks her instead.

I feel like the show has now become to formulaic and predictable. I would have enjoyed it more if I would have been much younger. In this episode, I felt like the episodes are becoming very same-y.

I hope it does better and rekindles my interest.
