The Terminal List Rambling

The Terminal List is a Amazon Original TV Series released on 1st July 2022. It is based on a bestselling book by Jack Carr. Another Prime Original called Jack Ryan is also based on a bestselling book by Tom Clancy. Without Remorse starring Michael B. Jordan, was also released by Amazon which was based on Tom Clancy Book.

Without Remorse was a movie however unlike Jack Ryan. W/O Remorse didn't do the trick for me. I found it rather bland and meh. I know that Action movies are not actually cerebral and high brow but it relied to much on the fame of Michael B. Jordan. I didn't even remembered the plot after the ending of the movie. It was utterly forgettable. It was simply just Michael B. Jordan Murder Porn. Maybe I didn't like it cause I am not particularly a big fan of Michael B. Jordan or maybe the movie was just terrible. Cause I am also not a big fan of Chris Pratt but I ended up liking Terminal List and started to partially like him. I thought he was not that good-looking for becoming a Hero but now I think he has the required good looks maybe cause I got a good look at him which I never did before. I haven't watched his any movie completely. I saw him in The Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers series some times.

Jack Ryan was pretty sucessful for Prime. They tried to recreate the magic here along with the stardom of Chris Pratt. Who is on a roll these days. They tried to cash in on Chris Pratt superstardom and it worked. It definitely worked here. I can't help but notice the similarities with Without Remorse. Main difference is Without Remorse falls flat on its face and the movie just succkkkks!

Story is simple and straightforward. James Reece (Chris Pratt) gets back to home after his entire platoon gets wiped out except for him during a ambush in Syria. He suffers a concussion during the fight. Reece was also the commander of the group. The group got Intel about terrorists but it in actuality it had been a trap to kill the platoon. Thankfully Reece survives and naturally tries to find the people responsible and then bury them in the ground. But after an eerie episode where he zones out while talking to her daughter, his wife convinces him to got to a neurologist to get checked for any underlying cause for this event and also for the trauma suffered by him during the mission in Syria. During the MRI scan he gets attacked by assailants who try to kill him but he somehow survives only to rush to his family in light of the looming threat, but unfortunately he finds them dead on the kitchen floor. This event causes him to finally go on the mission to find the culpable people and terminate them. For this mission, he enlists the help of his old buddy from the seals, Ben Edwards played by Taylor Kitsch.
He is also joined by Katie Buranek, played by Constance Wu. Katie is a journalist who writes about military especially elaborate coverups done by the military. Both have the same motive of bringing down the guilty of the murder of the seals, only difference is Katie wants to pursue justice with  conventional ways but Reece has an unconventional way to deal with the responsible people as you might expect, which sends them on a collision course but for the time being the co-operate. Constance Wu doesn't have a heroine face meaning she is not attractive and is very average looking. Her name is also very unimpressive. She is not great in this series but She is okay. One time She gives a very contrived explanation of why She is going after this story. Which was for me very bizarre. She might as well have said nothing. She is 40 years old but She certainly doesn't looks 40. She looks like She is in her early 30s and She is not a very good-looking 30 if you ask me. But the thing is despite looking 10 years younger, She is not very attractive. She is a 7 at best.
They definitely could have brought a better actor to play this role but She is fine.

Ben has joined CIA since he left the Seals, he also comes as a great help every step of the way with his networks and military skills.
Taylor Kitsch is casted very effectively. He fits right in. Usually, In these revenge stories, the revenge is single handedly done by the hero with some support from the background characters but here Taylor's character is behind him all the way. Which is a very refreshing idea to be honest. Taylor also has the good looks which helps of course.
So they both basically find out and kill the people responsible which turns out to be a tech company, shocking right! Company is spearheaded by Jai Courtney with a right hand man played by Sean Gunn. Reece kills Jai Courtney whose character name is Steve born by the end of the 4th episode. He also kills his right hand man by drugging him with deadly drugs and also kills one another man of Steve by a Sniper Gun. Reece was a Sniper earlier and later became team leader. He also kills the murderer of his family by cutting open his stomach by an small axe and then pulling out small intestine and tieing it above his head. Meanwhile his brain tumor is getting worse. His hands are shaking and he is having hallucinations, the whole nine yard. After half of the show, he has already killed all his enemies or has he? But before killing the last enemies he is chased by the fugitive department and the fbi through the jungle. Of course, he manages to escape ats one does. In the last two episodes, he kills the guilty people in the military and then then goes to kill madam secretary but She kills herself first. These people have organised a drug test made by Steve's company to stop the soldiers from getting PTSD but it all goes awry and they develop brain tumor instead so they decide to coverup by killing them all in an ambush which Reece survives and ultimately help expose with the help of Katie. While suffering from hallucination and losing grip on reality but he pulls through somehow and kills everyone on the list. The last conspirator turns out to be Ben. Reece confronts him with the fact and shoots him supposedly off the screen and hence killing the last man on the list.
The Terminal List.
