Buffy The Vampire Slayer S1 Ep 1 Commentary

The episode is reasonably sound for a pilot of a 90s show. Sarah Michelle Gellar is great for Buffy's role. She surely has capability to handle this demanding role. She is also palpably gorgeous. But, the eerie thing was the awkward girl in the episode was the one who is drop dead gorgeous,usually it's the mean girl. The Mean Girl is the least attractive one and also she is not that mean.
Sarah showcases opportune amount of reservedness, extraversion and quirkiness, which works exquisitely. Her mentor has a British accent, which certainly adds to the show positives. Villains are creditable. Other cast members are okay as well. The show commences with a captivating spectacle and ends in with a cliffhanger, which works out in favour of the show. 
In conclusion,great pilot episode certainly makes a compelling case to watch the next episode.
