Buffy, The Vampire Slayer Movie Review
Buffy, The Vampire Slayer is a 1992 comedy horror movie which caused a tv series in 1997 with the same name which was critically acclaimed and was highly successful tv show.
Plot
You would think that horror and comedy is horrible mix but somehow this movie makes it work. Plot is simple. Buffy a cheerleader is The Chosen one or simply The Slayer who can vanquish vampires. Humans can't kill vampires but vampires can kill humans so to balance this equation, a variable is introduced which is The Slayer. So, she has to kill the chief vampire to save humanity.
Commentary
For a movie you would need a gorgeous actress (duh). The protagonist which is played by Kristy Swanson, She looked like Haley Atwell. I thought she is her mother or something, which was not the case, which is often is not. Swanson looked athletic and acrobatic in the movie which was a prerequisite for her role. Also, Buffy's character is funny and likeable. Swanson looked super cute, when she is annoyed, which is a rare occurence. She has also biting sense of humor, snarkiness that keeps people off balance and in addition she also maintains poise when chips are down. All things considered, She is a great character. Buffy is also reasonably attractive but the quota of beauty is overfilled by enchantress herself; (drumroll) Hilary Swank. She is the goofy annoying friend. Nowadays, this sort of role is played by Bella Thorne, Swank has the Screen Presence which only Thorne could dream of . Bella Thorne was also in the Netflix Movie The Babysitter which was also a horror comedy. This movie has campy fight scenes which makes you laugh. Fight scenes in this movie are very similar to Charlie's Angel Franchise. The male protagonist in this movie has a legend name: Pike. I almost thought it was fake name or something. The villains are also over the top and cartoonish. They have a character arch of a water bottle. They are basically cardboard cutouts. Which makes this movie even more great and fun.
In Conclusion, Buffy, The Vampire Slayer is fun and chill movie which stood the test of time and makes you laugh even after three decades of its release.
